Ad students take over the ‘IF’ pages in B&T magazine

Macleay College Advertising students were recently given the amazing opportunity to contribute to the latest edition of B&T Magazine.

Students were asked to develop and pitch a concept to design and produce 10 pages for the ‘IF’ section. International student Dafne Salvatori’s concept  ‘untranslatable words’ was chosen by B&T creative director Dan Uglow and designer Elliot Hind. Each student then created a full-page concept based on the theme.  8 final pieces of work were chosen for print by B&T executives.

“This is a brilliant example of how Macleay College students live and breathe practical education each and every day. Thanks to small class sizes and industry-connected lecturers, students are given ample opportunities for practical experience within the field they are studying” commented advertising program leader Ian Thomson.

Not only do projects such as this one connect students with important industry contacts, they also open up doors for internship and employment opportunities. One of the Diploma of Advertising students Laura Hemsley recently interned at B&T and you can read her story here.

The Diploma of Advertising offers school leavers a great overview of the exciting new job opportunities in the whole of the advertising industry (including roles on social media and media production) and also offers students who have previously studied marketing, graphic design, psychology or writing an opportunity to specialise their skills and launch their advertising careers.

In 2016 the Diploma of Advertising will be complemented by the Bachelor of Advertising and Media. This revolutionary new degree will be Australia’s only dedicated Advertising degree offering a holistic overview of the advertising industry. Students who have completed the Diploma of Advertising will be able to articulate into the Bachelor degree if they have achieved a credit point average. You can read more about the Bachelor of Advertising and Media here.

Make sure you grab a copy of B&T magazine to admire the talented work that has been produced by Macleay students!
